How iZao currently collects, uses and protects account, listing and enquiry information.

Last updated / Dernière mise à jour: 6 September 2026

1. Scope and responsible operator

This policy covers izao.africa, including accounts, private dashboards, property publishing, uploads, public listings and enquiries. The current responsible operator’s legal identity is a required interim placeholder pending incorporation and legal review; requests can be sent to hello@izao.africa.

2. Information processed

Depending on how you use iZao, the service processes:

  • account and profile details, including name and email address;
  • authentication and session information;
  • property facts, private address information and public location-disclosure choices;
  • listing text, prices, status and uploaded photographs;
  • enquiry names, email addresses, phone numbers and messages;
  • technical, security and request logs, device/browser information and necessary cookie data.

3. Why information is used

Information is used to authenticate users, provide dashboards, create and manage listings, enforce visibility choices, deliver enquiries, secure and troubleshoot the service, prevent abuse, comply with legal duties and establish or defend legal claims. Where required, processing relies on performance of requested services, legitimate interests in operating a secure marketplace, consent, or legal obligations.

4. Public and private information

Published listing content and the location precision selected by a publisher can be public. Drafts, exact private addresses where disclosure is limited, account-management information and private workspaces are not intended for public display. Enquiry information is shared with the publisher or professional responsible for the relevant listing.

5. Service providers and transfers

iZao uses Supabase for database and authentication services, Vercel for application hosting and delivery, and Amazon Web Services (including S3 and CloudFront) for media storage and delivery. These providers may process information in the countries and regions in which they operate, subject to their contractual and legal safeguards.

6. Retention

A formal retention schedule is still being finalized. Information is kept only as long as reasonably necessary for the service, security, dispute, record-keeping and legal purposes for which it was collected. Retention may differ for accounts, drafts, published listings, enquiries, logs and backups. Users may request deletion, subject to legal or security requirements.

7. Security

We use access controls and technical safeguards intended to protect information. No internet service is completely secure. Users should protect their credentials and avoid putting unnecessary sensitive information in listings or enquiry messages.

8. Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, receive portable data, withdraw consent and complain to a supervisory authority. Contact hello@izao.africa to exercise a right. We may need to verify your identity.

9. Children and changes

iZao is not directed to children who cannot legally use the service. We may update this policy as the product, providers or legal operator changes and will publish the updated date.
