Answers to your questions.
Who may sign and collect payment?
Identify the landlord and check the mandate if dealing with a representative. Match the inspected home to the address and description in the agreement. Ask who receives each payment and which receipt will be issued; a viewing with an intermediary alone does not establish authority to let.
How can I compare rental offers?
Request a written breakdown separating advance rent, refundable deposit, charges, fees and proposed works. Clarify deposit repayment and departure conditions. This guide does not assert a national deposit cap; have a disputed demand checked before committing.
What should I ask DGI about registration?
The 2026 General Tax Code addresses registration of instruments and leases. Provide the property use, parties, term, amount and charges to confirm the relevant office, deadline, calculation and person responsible. Request registration evidence and receipts relating to the agreement.
What should I keep for a deduction or dispute?
Retain the lease, receipts, condition report, dated photographs, meter readings and important messages. A lawyer found through the Bar’s roll can examine a deduction, termination or next steps. For landlords, obligations on rental income are a separate tax question for DGI.
