Answers to your questions.

Start with an identifiable publication

ANSD publishes national statistics. Its 2023 census catalogue provides an entry point for population and housing resources. Record the title of the publication or dataset you use.

Check what the figure measures

Before comparing figures, identify the reference year, geographical unit and indicator definition. Results for different boundaries or periods may describe different situations.

  • Does the result cover the commune, department or region?
  • Which year do the observations refer to?
  • Does it measure people, households or dwellings?

Ask for clarification

If a publication does not answer your question, describe the location and indicator to ANSD’s published contact. These data help document an area; they do not, by themselves, value a particular property.
